Seek God…

and get to know God yourselves by reading His words in the Bible! What I write here is what I would call the foundation, compressed, of the Gospel, a journey with God that begins with a conversion.

I wont write many more posts but keep update the text in the former posts.( And pardon for all the misspellings 🙂   ).

I have another blog – which is readable at my FaceBook site, Ann-sofie Kassberg or twitter Ann K-Berg

Thoughts of late: October 27 2013

It is not until these last months that Ive realised how much we need Gods help, his mercy. And I also realise that Ive been thinking of my fellow countrymen/women the Swedes as more or less hopeless sinners (myself included the way I lived before), but apart from all the lies spread in the name of the Gospel and Jesus Christ in Sweden by the main christian church (Svenska Kyrkan), us swedes are pretty righteous as a people. Like most people in christian countries, over all.  For sure many Swedes live in sin and dont care about God, or believe christianity to mean permission to sin, but as a country we do charity, we do give help to refugees, we try to have noone starving or beeing without a roof over their head. Hopefully this way of thinking will remain in Sweden, I believe it to be the reason why God will help us. And we can help other people by spreading a true Gospel, which is not about unnatural relationships of any sort, or indecency. True christianity is and will always be about righteousness – true goodness and decency. But other people – nonchristians- can only be helped by becoming baptized into christianity.  I see now what steps of goodwill it is to become a christian and walk in the light – beeing filled with Holy Spirit! It may seem risky at first, but when we realise there is only one who can help us when it comes to enemies we cant even see, God through the spirit of Christ for inner cleaning – then the risk turns into trust. It is important to believe and trust God to help us, and He knows our problems.  The Bible begins – more or less- with a lie spoken by the devil/accuser about God before His humans, that made Adam and Eve hide in fear of God beeing naked. The Bible ends with telling us (book of revelation chap 22) that those who will be helped by God, is those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness – who have washed their clothes clean in suffering. And those who will not recieve any help will be those who love the lie and live in it – the sinners.

Knowing that unclean spirits are described by God (the book of Jubilee, the book of Henok – jewish apocryphic text) as insatiable and limitless – there is no enough for these spirits , well we see the “footprints” of those all over the place – even with ourselves from time to time. And in nonchristians countries, it seems to be the very issue proventing their countries from working well. I understand democracy is difficult for humans that are affected by an egoistic “hunger and thirst” that will never be fulfilled – other than through inner cleaning (Holy Spirit). And it must be impossible to care for others when beeing pestered by evil spirits all the time.    Only God can help people when it comes to matters of the spirit world, and its all about that.

Gods peace be with you (if you wish Gods peace unto people and you feel the peace coming back at you, those people where not worhty of it- the words of Jesus Christ…good to know!)

Mulling overs

Thoughts of late: October 8 2012

How vital and important is not the word that Jesus Christ is giving us (Gods words they are ofcourse), about life in this fallen world ruled by the evil one!? For example when Jesus in his parabel about the sawing of the seeds- Gods words where he informs us what the devil is capable of….to steal the very word of God from our memory when we dont understand the meaning of it right away. Same thing when Jesus turns to Simon Peter and says ” Stay on your own ground Satan, your thoughts are not the thoughts of God but of people.

I wonder if it isnt easy to regard the words in the Bible ,and of that the words spoken by Jesus, like things that may have happened long time ago and only at those special occations. But I have witnessed myself that what Jesus speaks of are just as important in our time. And that is why I think that Holy Spirit is the ONLY help that is really any help at all. Through the Spirit Jesus can speak to God on our behalf because through the Holy Spirit he knows what we have to endure. And the fact that we human beeing can and are doing things that both hurts ourselves and others must be the very proof that somehing is affecting us, because surely we are not that unintelligent as to want our own destruction?!

More over I ponder about all the different ways that unclean spirits can affect us, ways that Jesus speaks of. In the book of Henok, jewish apocryphic text, these unclean spirits – not a creation of God but the ”left overs” from the unnatural relation between fallen angels and human women a relation NOT blessed by God – are described as excessive and insatiable. Jesus tells us of spirits causing illness, fiddle with our memory and affect our thoughts and in other fysical ways (horrid!).

And what is discussed in our society these days about sexuality and genderroll: The soul does not have a gender! Our gender is completely an issue of the flesh, our body.

God is himself spirit, the thinnest of all materia as He is described in the Bible and though we call God Him he is not of flesh, have no body, no gender and therefore no sexual drive. And the Holy Spirit hardly adds anything of the sexual kind, if we read what Jesus says when he sharpens the commitment and the law : ”If a man looks at a married woman with lust he has in his heart already broken her marriage” and having that in mind I dont believe that God himself would make it possible through the spirit to practise any unnatural relations. And Christ also talks to the Jewish people of that time about what humans can expect at the resurrection: those who are considered worthy to enter the kingdom of heaven shall become as angels and in that kingdom we shall not marry because we can not die there. Death itself has enter the world at the same time as sin slithered its way into Eden, and through death comes the need to reproduce if the world shall continue to be inhabited. To put it plain and not too romantic, sexuality is reproduction and reproduction belongs to the sacred marriage between man and woman. That sacred marriage unites a man and a woman, two becomes one and nothing unclean is aloud to separate them or disturb that union. Maybe Chrisitan people living in a, by God, blessed marriage notice a difference between beeing married and living the single life regarding affects from unclean spirits? I myself have been ”City hall” married with a man, not a union with a spouse before God. Not a holy marriage.

God speaks through his profets, before Christ, that He shall fill people with his own spirit, tear out our hearts of stone and replace it with hearts of flesh and blood. Further He says that He shall clean man the same way as gold is purified in the owen. And surely this is what Jesus talks about when he says: ”I have come to light a fire in this world, if only it already was lit”. A Holy Spirit that cleans us from within, the fire that ignites within and purifies us from all unclean spirits before we have been seduced into sinning!? The apostle John says : whoever has God and Christ does not sin anymore. This makes me think of people, not believing in Christianity and by that lacking the baptism in water and Holy Spirit which leads to lack of protecting help. And I dont consider that to be a hostile opinion about people of other religions.

Can we notice symptoms concerning this in our different countries? And what happens in our Christian countries in times of minimal faith in Gods truth and conversion with a weak presence of the Holy Spirit? In times when lawlessness and sinning is growing and we end up calling good -bad and light – darkness?! When we (they) want to install a free market for narcotics claiming human rights as the cause? When we decide that no unnatural sexual relations may be called unnatural and with that banning the freedom of speach, faith and conviction?

Does human rights include me when I believe that all unnatural sexual relations is harmful and that God gives all the help people need, even concerning this? Is my opinions and belief  ” persecuting people”, or does freedom of speach (taste and emotions too for that matter) include me?

Mybe it is this that Jesus talks about : When the light entered the world people prefered the darkness rather than coming to the light because they didnt want their evil deeds to be exposed, for those who live evil lives hates the light and does not come to the light. But those who act by the truth, they come to the light, so that it shall be evident that they do what God wants us to do (John 3:19-21).

All people do not choose God and righteousness, sadly!

Light= Truth. Holy Spirit= The spirit of truth and also called the Helper by Jesus Christ.

If we have this insight about the spiritual life that we live among and participate in, it becomes easier to understand why there is evil in the world even though everything is in Gods hands. Why we have unclean, evil thoughts about eachother and at worse end up doing things that will hurt ourselves and others = sinning (and the meaning of sin= to miss the goal) and sinning leads to death. Jesus Christ says: ”If you come to me you shall be liberated from the slavery of sinning, for those who sin are slaves of sinning. If I say to you that you shall be liberated, you shall truly become free. And he also says: The truth shall set you free. It is so! If the Holy Spirit clean me from all unclean spirits as often as needed and the fruits of the spirit cures and guides me from within, this should give me a better chance of choosing a righteous life before a life of sin!? Well, then I am free and the truth has set me free.

Jesus says the ones who teaches others to keep the comandments and themselves live that way, shall be considered big in Gods Kingdom. And those who teach others only a few of the commandments shall be smaller. But all commandments and the law rests upon ”Love your neighbour as yourself” and ”Do to others what you want them to do for you”. So, to love my neighbour means to keep the comandments. And I personally think that keeping them shows great love for God and the son Jesus Christ.

He also talks about what living a Christian life may cause- schisms in families.

We are beeing told not to judge others and that it is better to acquit because then we shall be acquitted. Jesus does not mean that we may behave any way we please and that acquitting rubs out sinning. Remeber what he says to the people that he has cured from illness: Go, but do not sin again, so that nothing even worse may come your way (not in exact those words).

To love our neighbour as ourselves, a neighbour that Jesus defines in the parabel with the merciful Samarian man who helps a complete stranger. Maybe this is the reason, fallen world, beeing affected by unclean spirits, that we should be understanding towards eachother and aught to encourage righteous lives by mercy and forgiveness?! And I wonder if Jesus means that the help we get through the Holy Spirit is such a powerful help that these things can be followed without falling away from righteousness. That those Jesus adress is not people living in sin but what God wishes converted people to behave like.

But time does not stand still, every day someone dies and someone is beeing born. The spring with the lifegiving water must be kept clean for us who lives now but also for those who comes after us! The truth needs to be there, told and heard by people so that as many as possible gets a better chance to understand and choose to follow Jesus Christ. God is calling us all to be light and salt in this dark world so that Gods Holy Spirit can do His deeds through us just as He did through his Son Christ. As the son says: ”On my own I can do nothing, it is my Father who are in me that is doing His deeds through me”. To be the salt of this world, preservers- not that it is evil and sinning that is to be preserved but rather that God shall be able to clean the world through all that recieves the Spirit. So if we convert, confesses our sins and ask for forgiveness and the gift Holy Spirit, then we shall surely be given it! (patience may be needed). Once recieving such a gift from God we are ment to bring fruit. Everyone who recieves the Spirit has no darkness inside and cannot hide anything and it may be the reason the apostles left everything in order to serve God?! As Jesus says: ”A lamp is not put under a bucket or under a bench, no it is placed in the middle of the room so that anyone entering that room will see the light”. Anyone who tries to save their life shall loose it, but whoever looses his or her life because of the Gospel and in the name of Jesus Christ, shall find true life. The branches on the tree that doesnt bring any fruit is cut off and tossed into the fire. If the salt looses its flavour it is of no use and is thrown into the fire. The Lord tells us that God prunes all the branches that do carry fruit so they will carry even more, and his disciples was pruned through the word that Jesus had spoken- enough to bring fruit. So knowing the truth about the Gospel and beeing filled with Holy Spirit, people can bring fruit and serve God.But will enough people convert? Im thinking about what Jesus says to the priests about beeing blind : ”If you had been blind you would be without sin, but now you say you can see- your sin then remains. Knowing the truth, you no longer have any excuse for  sinning.

Read the other day in a Swedish newspaper about Muhammed maybe beeing more holy than Jesus. But that is to me a silly discussion, holy and to saint means to separate oneself or something, holy is not a measure of goodness. And as the ever so humble Jesus Christ says to someone :” Why do you call me good? There is but one who is truly good and that is God”. And the salvation comes from the Jewish people, as Jesus says!

On this mountain the Lord Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
the best of meats and the finest of wines.
On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;
    he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign Lord will wipe away the tears
from all faces;
he will remove his people’s disgrace
from all the earth.
The Lord has spoken. (Isaiah 25:6-8).

Beautiful it is that the shroud that we humans wear when burdened with our own sins can be lifted off from us by you God, by the truth.  That by turning to you God and the Son, Christ, our own truth is revealed and you meet us with grace and help us to live righteous. So, with the help from the holy Spirit, God “spikes” the good things within ourselves, a custom-made help for our own personal need.

If anyone would say to me: we dont have to keep the commandments. I would answer: but ofcourse we have to!!  How else are we to love our neighbor as ourselves and more,  how we treat others – that is what we are to expect from others. So rudeness brings rudeness, to put it mildly. And it reminds me of myself as a child, holding up a mirror infront of me and faceing another mirror- the reflection of the same thing gives the image of a tunnel or a road. A glimpse of  a truth too big for me to comprehend.

Vindicate me, O Lord,
For I have walked in my integrity.
I have also trusted in the Lord;
I shall not slip.
Examine me, O Lord, and prove me;
Try my mind and my heart.
For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,
And I have walked in Your truth. (Psalms 26:1-3).

Ive  read about the persecution of the early Christians in Rome when they were accused of beeing enemies to mankind. And I can understand why Christianity can be so missunderstood with the words of Jesus:

18  “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19  If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. (John 15:18-19)

But I dont believe that God wants us to stop beeing human beeings, impossible that is too, but more to think for ourselves and make our own choices. To follow our own true selves- and God has not created anything evil. People living without faith in God and Jesus- a worldly life, think they are free, that all choices are their own (Ive done that too) but with a little consideration its clear that few follow their own hearts. Lots of “chasing the  wind” !

There are scriptures that are not included in the Swedish protestant Bible but are included in other christian Bibles as apocryphs, One such scripture that seems to be incluced in the Etiopian ortodox christian Bible is Henochs (or Enochs) books. The first of these books called the Watchers I find very interesting and if it indeed is the true scriptures written by the man Enoch, mentioned in Genesis chapter 5, it tells me things about God that I truly want to read. That God does not allow human beeings to be abused by heavenly creatures and indeed God does not tempt anyone.

The fruits of the holy Spirit

All good comes from God, the help we need and nothing more. The help to become steady, less egoistic more humble.

23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”  (John 4:23-24).

10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.  (John 14:10)

   15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. (John 14:16-18)

26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. 27  Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.  From (John 14:26-27)

 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.” (John 4:13-14).

13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”  (John 16:13-15)

27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will[e] abide in Him. (1 John 2:27)

So what is what then in this not all together visible world?

4 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God.Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we knowthe Spirit of truth andthe spirit of error. (1John 4:1-6)

And Jesus Christ brother Jude warns us:

 For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ. (Jud 4)

And the angels who did not stay within their own position of authority, but left their proper dwelling, he has kept in eternal chains under gloomy darkness until the judgment of the great day— just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities, which likewise indulged in sexual immorality and pursued unnatural desire,[d]serve as an example by undergoing a punishment of eternal fire.

Yet in like manner these people also, relying on their dreams, defile the flesh, reject authority, andblaspheme the glorious ones. (Jud 6-8)

Simon Peter also warns:

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell[a] and committed them to chains[b] of gloomy darkness to be kept until the judgment; if he did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when he brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; if by turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes he condemned them to extinction, making them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;[c] and if he rescued righteous Lot, greatly distressed by the sensual conduct of the wicked (for as that righteous man lived among them day after day, he was tormenting his righteous soul over their lawless deeds that he saw and heard); then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials,[d] and to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of judgment, 10 and especially those who indulge[e] in the lust of defiling passion anddespise authority. (2 Pet 2:4-10)

13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. (James 1:13)

10 “So listen to me, you men of understanding.
   Far be it from God to do evil,
   from the Almighty to do wrong. (job 34:10).

27 “You have heard that it was said to those of old,[c] ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[d] 28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.  (Matthew 5:27-28).

6 Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me.”  (Matthew 11:6).

And we shall not abuse Gods grace and mercy by seeking material benefits with the ill use of the holy Spirit.

13 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” (Luke 16:13)

So lets not be fooled!

I both believe and from the depts of my heart hope that one fruit that holy Spirit does not bring is of any sexual kind.  I dont believe God puts coal on the fire but help us become steady with the fruits of holy spirits help.

From all good to all bad

So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

31 And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good.(genesis1-27,31)

3 Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made.

He said to the woman, “Did God actually say, ‘You[a] shall not eat of any tree in the garden’?” 2 And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, 3 but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die.’” 4 But the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. 5 For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” 6 So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise,[b] she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. 7 Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.

8 And they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool[c] of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. 9 But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”[d] 10 And he said, “I heard the sound of you in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked, and I hid myself.”(genesis 3:1-11)

16To the woman he said,

   “I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;
   with painful labor you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
   and he will rule over you.” (Genesis 3:16).

 17To Adam he said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’

   “Cursed is the ground because of you;
   through painful toil you will eat food from it
   all the days of your life. (Genesis3:17).

I believe that man and woman where created to live in peace and mutual respect, to help eachother and with God as their Father and creator. Because of the fall from God everything got askew, between man and woman to begin with.

God our Father loves peace and goodness among us :

9 Blessed are the peacemakers,
   for they will be called children of God.  (Matthew 5:9)

Peace should begin between man and woman in this world!  And God does not make much difference between the sexes when He calls human beeings to serve him-  both men and women are called.  Only as priests women are not called to be,  in the old testimony.

What did the Accuser accuse God of? And why did Adam and Eve hide their nakedness? Whatever it was I dont believe it to be true. Instead Im sure that God created all with goodness at heart, and that He was sad(humiliated?) because of the fall of Adam and Eve.  One thing that makes me believe that is the words about the “new life”…

 29 But Jesus answered them, “You are wrong, because you know neither the Scriptures nor the power of God. 30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. (Matt 22:29-30).

And also in the book of Luke:

34 And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, 35 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, 36 for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons[g] of the resurrection.    ( Luk 20:34-36)

 5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit[b] gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You[c] must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”[d] (John 3:5-8).

Jesus Appears to the Disciples

 36While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

 37 They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost. 38 He said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts rise in your minds? 39Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.”

 40 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and feet. 41 And while they still did not believe it because of joy and amazement, he asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?” 42 They gave him a piece of broiled fish, 43and he took it and ate it in their presence.

 44He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.”

 45 Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. 46 He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, 47 and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 You are witnesses of these things. 49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.” (Luke 24:36-48)

Free from the slavery of sinning

31 So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, 32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”  (John 8:31-32)

34 Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave[b] to sin. 35  The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8-34-36)

For sure, liberty for human beeings, true liberty,  aught to be the right to choose righteousness before a life in sin. Regardless of how our lives turn out to be lived, if we cant make THAT choice we are bound to destroy ourselves. And if we silence others we silence ourselves.

 13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.  (Matthew 5:13)

The salt preserves.

a bruised reed he will not break,
    and a faintly burning wick he will not quench;
     he will faithfully bring forth justice. (Isaiah 42:3)

11 “The days are coming,” declares the Sovereign LORD,
   “when I will send a famine through the land—
not a famine of food or a thirst for water,
   but a famine of hearing the words of the LORD.
12 People will stagger from sea to sea
   and wander from north to east,
searching for the word of the LORD,
   but they will not find it. (Amos 8:11-12)

 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they werebeautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.

And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive[a] with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.” There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

Then the Lord[b] saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” (Genesis 6:1-7)

From our bible version of Genesis, that is about these “sons of God” or rather heavenly creatures sent to watch over the humans, its easy to missunderstand the text and think that all evil is our own fault. That God find that all we think and do is evil and that He is sorry for ever creating us. But in the jewish text ” The book of Jubilee”(Genesis in other words, so to speak) or the book of Henok, the truth is clear. The key to the truth that Jesus is talking about?!

I dont believe that Eve and Adam “found God out” by eating the forbidden fruit and gaining visdom, rather finding out that there are creatures of heaven and  man of the earth. And the spring of lifegiving water that Jesus talks about – holy Spirit,  renders us only good and righteous gifts aiding us mentally and emotionally. I do hope it also renders us safety from unwanted spiritual influence and effects!!!  We are indeed poor in spirit…how dearly do we not need this help and defence from God.
